Burger King execs recently retracted a statement that referred to a new campaign known as "Have It My Way". BK.com spokesperson described the campaign as a revolution in the fast food industry. Essentially the proposal was that customers could go to www.bk.com and design their own sandwich (using items of the menu), name the sandwich, print the sandwich barcode out and present it to specific Burger King Restaurants where they will make the sandwich.
So, a completely custom burger that you can name and submit to others for votes. If these custom burgers become popular, they will be featured on the bk.com "Kingly" menu only available to the BK superfan.
Why they rejected the idea is beyond me. According to the source, they didn't think it would be "popular enough."
I've never blogged before, and I don't have any other blogs, but as an avid BK user, I think it is ridiculous that BK doesn't do this. I mean, this would revolutionize the fast food industry. I eat at BK often, but the idea that I could make my own burger and even name it and have it become popular enough that others would order it is, well, uber awesome.
My first would be "The Leverman" (play on words from one of my favorite movies.) It would have french fries grilled with cheese and onions, two patties, lettuce and mayo and more cheese. I would order it everyday.
BK, wake up! Your advertising is sweeet but you'll need to do more than that to get me to go more often.

Hey Leverman, after reading your article, I'm craving the kingly "leverman burger." I think that BK is nuts to not make this "Have it my way" campaign happen. I for one would definately go more often if I could create a burger that would really satisfy my indulgent cravings.
